Chuck Doby is a 1970 graduate of Texas A&M University and a Registered Professional Engineer (TX 37593). He belongs to four professional engineering societies as well as several local business organizations. He is active in the community having served on the board of directors of the Abilene Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, Fairway Oaks Country Club, MHMR, YMCA, and the Texas Landmarks Commission.
Mr. Doby established CADCO in 1980 and has been responsible for project management and engineering design for numerous educational projects. This expertise encompasses mechanical design, electrical design, soils analysis, foundation design, storm water drainage and retention design, and structural design of various campuses and individual facilities.
Mr. Doby provides CADCO with a variety and depth of engineering experience. Federal Government experience includes four projects for the Navy and several projects at Dyess AFB, including the B-1B crew training facility. Private sector experience includes schools, high and low-rise commercial structures, shopping centers, natatoriums, gymnasiums, multi-use recreational facilities, churches, industrial plants, and medical facilities.
Prior to forming CADCO, Mr. Doby was chief civil/structural engineer and head of the civil engineering department for a 160 person consulting engineering firm. He was in charge of design and construction documents for over 500 million dollars worth of construction including lead project engineer for a 200 million dollar power plant in Nevada. Responsibilities included coordination of all engineering, cost accounting, on-site observations, client contact, and contract administration.
